Kwabena Brenya is a first-generation Ghanaian American born in Brooklyn, New York. He is a basketball trainer & coach, model, pro athlete, philanthropist and actor. At the early age of 23, after finishing his Higher Education, his career lead him to life behind the camera. His career away from sports began in 2012 when he started assisting Photography and Video athletic shoots.
Ironically photography/video brought him back to his one true love, basketball.
Over the years he branched out into being a brand ambassador, influencer as well as coaching youth basketball teams throughout NYC. Since then, Kwabena has also worked with Nike for 4 years as a brand ambassador, model, and elite basketball trainer. He works with other well-know organizations; such as FiveStar basketball, NBPA, NBA and many more. Working with children over the years refined his purpose in life and helped him realize how his passion for basketball can impact the world.
When he discovered that there were many young people who didn’t have the resources to follow their dreams in basketball, he began to volunteer his services for free to non-profit organisations. He wanted to give underprivileged children the chance to invest in their dreams. This process had a huge effect on Kwabena and would change his life forever. He now has a non-profit organisation that helps kids in Third World countries who love the game of basketball and provides curated experiences to help these children continue their journey in the sport.
As well as donate sneakers, school supplies, food and raise money for the youngsters in these countries; the goal is to show children all over the World that someone cares as well as giving them an outlet. Kwabena knows he’s here to invest in the dreams of young people by not just teaching and training them to be amazing ballers, but using basketball as a tool to shape their minds to be great individuals with a sense of purpose and high morals.
