XX USA Basketball camp – Peralada – June’24
This new edition of our program in Peralada-Costa Brava has represented the achievement of a new milestone for our organization. This was the first addition to our WNBA Staff. We welcomed Reshanda Gray who traveled to Catalonia from San Francisco.
In 2015, after graduating Reshanda was fortunate to have the opportunity to play professional basketball in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association). Gray was selected 16th overall in the second round of the Draft by the Minnesota Lynx where she began her career.
Gray played in the WNBA with the Atlanta Dream, Connecticut Sun, New York Liberty, Seattle Storm, Phoenix and Los Angeles Sparks. She also played professional basketball overseas in Italy, Hungary, Russia, Portugal, Spain, the Czech Republic, China, South Korea, Turkey and Mexico.
Gray’s empathy with our young players and her proximity to every corner of the court, to each of the exercises performed and to the different dynamics and game situations proposed, have led our participants to live a unique experience full of new learning and many emotions.
American David King from Michigan and Canadian Naz Buhagiar completed the team of basketball coaches who offered participants up to 10 basketball-specific skill work clinics.
Once again Carlos Vega from Global Performance has completed our staff. With the contribution of Global Performance, our young athletes have also been able to experience the benefits of specific warm-ups and learn about the key importance of inertial strength work which, in addition to enhancing the physical development and performance of the young players, also actively contributes to the prevention of the most common injuries that occur during basketball practice.
Now we’re leaving for New York City. From July 1st for 4 intense weeks our players, arriving from different parts of the world in the Big Apple, will be able to enjoy the programs of Basketball Offlimits, Basketball City, Junior Knicks and the NBPA x Five Star in a 100% American context and atmosphere.
On the return of what is already the 14th North American experience (the first was in 2009), from August 19 we have scheduled the XXI USA Basketball Camp in Barcelona.
A program that we face with new challenges and new emotions, as the additions to our WNBA Staff, Carla Cortijo and Ezequiel Bergero bring a true reference of the NBA Academies of Australia and Asia and expertise in sports psychology.
See you there!
